1989 - Clint Black took "Killin' Time" to the top of the country chart.

1985 - The Judds, Ricky Skaggs and George Strait won two trophies apiece at the CMA Awards.

1973 - Jack Clement, Don Gibson, Harlan Howard, Roger Miller, Ed and Steve Nelson and Willie Nelson were inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame.

1972 - Donna Fargo hit number one with "Funny Face."

1967 - Tammy Wynette went to number one for the first time as a solo artist with "I Don't Wanna Play House."
